Greetings, students!

Welcome to the start of your Leadership in Medicine and Healthcare course for your clerkship! I hope that you will see that the LMH course has been carefully designed to accommodate variable schedules for clinical learning. The course will be asynchronous, and you will be working on the assigned modules for the upcoming weeks, culminating in a final project.

To closely mirror your clinical learning, we will focus our attention this term on three important concepts of health systems science:

  1. High value care.
  2. Patient safety.
  3. Continuous Quality Improvement.

All course material is available on the Medicine Digital Learning site. Your class will also have access to a dedicated Slack channel to discuss ideas, ask questions, and share thoughts about how this work shows up in the clinical environment—while not required for course completion, I encourage you to use this tool.

The following modules should be taken in order. Please reach out if you have any questions.
